Olympic-Rings

With the postponement of the Olympic Games in 2020 due to a global pandemic, the Olympic Games commission invited the submission of new designs to commemorate the 2021 event. A wide range of international artists and graphic designers were asked to explore themes of unity and compassion as a reflection of sportsmanship and the games themselves. Agency-R produced a variation on the 5-rings theme, using the core colours of the olympic logo and focused on the inspiration of a new dawn and new beginnings in the land of the rising sun. The geometrical construction doubles as both an eye on the future and the solar warmth of friendships to be made and cherished.
